West Acres Shopping Center is the largest shopping mall in North Dakota, welcoming thousands of visitors daily in Fargo’s busiest retail corridor. With frequent tenant changes, seasonal activations, and heavy vehicle and foot traffic, the mall requires signage that delivers clarity, flexibility, and visual impact while maintaining a cohesive brand experience.
Sign Badgers partnered with West Acres to design, produce, and install custom signage and large-scale graphics that enhance navigation, elevate the environment, and support ongoing tenant success.
The Challenge
With a property of this size and pace, West Acres needed signage that could do more than simply direct traffic. Parking areas had to be easier to navigate, interior spaces needed clear and consistent wayfinding, and tenant messaging had to change quickly as stores opened, closed, or relocated. At the same time, all signage needed to feel cohesive—inside and out—without disrupting the overall look of the mall.
Balancing function, flexibility, and visual consistency required a signage partner that could manage a wide range of applications while responding quickly to ongoing changes.
The Solution & Impact
Sign Badgers implemented a comprehensive signage program across the property, supporting both day-to-day navigation and seasonal promotions. Wayfinding and directory signage help shoppers move confidently through the mall, while updated parking signage improves visibility and traffic flow before guests even enter the building.
Throughout the interior and exterior spaces, Sign Badgers has delivered a mix of functional and experiential elements, including large-scale murals and artwork wraps, custom flooring graphics guiding guests to seasonal destinations, and barricade wraps announcing upcoming store openings. In addition, promotional signage such as door clings, table tents, floor standees, and A-frames allows West Acres to highlight sales, events, and tenant campaigns without sacrificing visual consistency.
Together, these solutions create a shopping environment that is easier to navigate, visually engaging, and built to adapt. Drivers and pedestrians experience clearer movement throughout the property, tenants gain stronger visibility, and the mall maintains the flexibility needed to evolve throughout the year.
